Salt Spring Literacy Society | Dedicated to the enhancement of literacy on Salt Spring Island

WHO VOLUNTEERS?

Individuals who like the rewarding experience of giving back to their community! Our volunteers come from all walks of life, all backgrouds and with all levels of educational qualifications. All our learners need different qualities in a tutor, please do not think you are not qualified to tutor or do not have the right skills! We can teach you whatever you need to know and some learners just need a supportive person, a friendly face and a good listening ear to help them work their way through their subject! Those who have struggled with school themselves often make superb tutors! Having said that, if you happen to be the world's leading expert in your field...I am sure we have the perfect learner for you too!

    • And general brainstorming!
    • Some volunteers come with an idea of what they want to do and create their own volunteer role! We strongly believe in being a community organisation and if you have a suggestion we would love to hear it!
